Bronze Sculpture Downtown

There's about to be a new pair of bronze sculptures gracing the downtown dining district and you could be a part of them.

"It fits in perfectly. The jack rabbit is ripping around the corner running from the coyote," said Harvey Deselms, the owner of Deselms Fine Art Gallery. "It will be a nice addition to downtown and I think it will be good for everybody."

"Fast Food" was created by Del Pettigrew a bronze artist from Nebraska.

This pair will be placed on the corner of Warren ave and east 17th.

Tince the budget for adding art to the city has been cut with the economy, the Downtown Development Authority Foundation is asking residents to be a big part of the installation.

They are asking for $100 donations in exchange for the donars name on a permanent plaque that will be a part of this art.

"It's going to be entirely privately funded," said Bob Bradshaw, Special Projects Director for the city of Cheyenne. "I think that speaks a lot about people in the community. We have a history of that as well. Where people step to the plate and if they see it's important and it will be a nice addition to downtown. I think you'll see a lot of those 100 contributions."
